I consider birthday parties an additional perk to having a child. I had no idea I was going to be one of those moms that seriously got into planning parties. I think I get more excited about birthdays than my son does. Of course, I know that he does not even remember the first three and in a few years, I know I am going to have to give into Spiderman, Transformers and Yo Gabba Gabba. Coopers first birthday party was a disco party. The party was decked out with disco decorations that I got from Party Time inBaton Rouge. Gambinos did an awesome job with the cake which tasted fabulous and was in the shape of a disco ball. The invitations were a hoot. I had my photographer, Anna Karin, snap photos for the invites. Cooper had on a retro outfit, a bling necklace, a fro wig and he was holding a disco ball. It was the funniest invitation ever but he wasnt impressed. These invitations are tucked away and will collect dust until girlfriends start to swarm the house. My friends have all said that he is going to hate me when he gets older for putting him in retro for his first birthday and a hula skirt for his second. Hey, its all in good fun.
