Elmo loves pizza! For this great activity set up a table with all kinds of pizza toppings and have round pizza dough already made in flat circles and a bowl of red pizza sauce. Then each guest gets to take a round flat pizza dough circle, add some pizza sauce on top of it, spread cheese and toppings, and then put them in the oven to bake. If youre guests are only toddlers coming with their parents, this can be a fun activity the parents can do together with their children.

It has been party central at our house for the last few weeks. Just when Christmas and New Years is over, it turns into birthday season around these parts! The first birthday of the season this year was the two year old birthday! For some reason, I think the rest of the parties after this will be less than a fraction of how epic this party was. I guess thats what we get as we turn to adulthood!
While I was in the beginning stages of planning, I couldnt decide what theme to really go with because this two year old loves so many different things! I was almost certain we would need an Elmo, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Sophia the First, La La Loopsy, Mickey Mouse party! I decided to go ahead with the Sesame Street theme because Elmo really was her first love. I didnt have much time to plan her party and thought I would be able to work with primary colors the easiest.
I started hunting for the perfect set of Sesame Street printables that I could use for the party and absolutely fell in love with the designs of Mimis Dollhouse! They seemed more realistic than any other Sesame Street printables that I could find!
Now for a photo journey through the party.
I cut out a giant red Elmo with butcher paper and we played pin the nose on Elmo too. It was the perfect little game for toddlers.
After the partying was all said and done, it was fun to just sit back and enjoy all of the Elmo goodness with my newly turned two year old.

Sesame Street Party Decorations
Rather then buying a bunch of decorations, I made many using old Sesame Street books and Sesame Street wrapping paper .
Across the deck I hung Sesame Street buntings cut from old book pages. They were so fun!
I also cut a big E and 2 out of foam core and covered them with the Sesame Street wrapping paper.
I used some old books and stuffed animals that we had around the house throughout the party too.
My favorite book decoration was this book on the center of the food table. I cut out a frame and inserted a picture of Ezra in it. It was so easy and SO cute.

Just frost cupcakes in Sesame Street character colors red for Elmo, blue for Grover and Cookie Monster, green for Oscar, etc. Then use a matching color gumdrop for the nose and a piece of black licorice for the smile. For the eyes you can take a mini Oreo cookie, split in half, and use the white side as one of the eyes , then glue black pupils with frosting .

It seems like just yesterday that my younger daughter turned two and had a Minnie Mouse themed birthday party. Now I have a three-year-old and we celebrated her birthday in Sesame Street Style. My mother-in-law is simply the best and helped tremendously with the party. It is so easy to have a great inexpensive birthday party when you use a little creativity.and have a little bit of help!
I recently realized that I would be completely lost without my Circle Cutters. I use them all.the.time. Notice how many circles you see in the this post.
Perfect circles in seconds!
For invitations I made a circular, folded Elmo with eyes that peeked from the top. Inside was a circular piece of paper with all the details. The girls loved the invitations so much that I made them little notecards that did not fold.
Super Easy Elmo Invitations
We made the party favor bags out of primary colored bags from Party City. With a few eyes, noses, and mouths we achieved perfection in the forms of Cookie Monster, Elmo, Bert, and Oscar. The purple monster was supposed to be Abby Cadabby. I didnt realize she was pink! So we turned her in to our own version of a monster and she was the birthday girls favorite.
Each morning when the girls wake up on their birthday I have their presents displayed on the mantel with a birthday banner. This is by far my favorite birthday banner. The extra ribbons were the wow factor.

Todays featured party is a Sesame Street birthday party for 2-year-old Benjamin! Bens mom, Allison, sent in these pictures and Im so impressed how she packed so much entertainment into an indoor party thats not always easy! But as youll see, she had a caricaturist, a music area, and an indoor bounce house for the kids to enjoy, plus lots of Sesame Street theme decorations and great party favors. Enjoy!
An adorable custom birthday sign greeted guests to the party. It was made by Kellie of Hope2Create, whom Allison highly recommends: Great quality, excellent communication, fast shipping!
The Bert and Ernie cut-outs that decorated the guest book table were also made by Hope2Create.
A printable birthday banner was hung behind the food table.
Benjamins big birthday cake featuring Elmo on the top, and colorful fondant dots on the sides was created by Creative Cakes.
Each dish on the table was labeled with a printable buffet card.
It was cold outside, but not to worry Allison set up an indoor bounce house to keep the kids entertained!
A caricaturist from Talk of the Town Variety Entertainment drew whimsical pictures of each party guest.
The kids had fun playing in a music area!
The amazing party favor bags were a custom order from Michael Coscia, who actually specializes in promotional items for businesses, but created the bags as a favor for the family. Allison says I think hes missing his calling not making party favors more often!
