The Cake Decorating/making Stuff Party
So this is a new one to me and its becoming more and more popular. I have two businesses just in my village that offer it. So the sessions last around 60-90 minutes, and numbers might be quite limited dependant on age six four year olds decorating cakes is bearable, but ten isnt. But then a group of 12 eight year olds is probably okay. It costs around £10-£15 per child and includes the cakes that have been lovingly decorated to take away.
We also have a pottery studio in my village, again you can have a childrens party there and its a similar set up to the cake decorating really. Because of the limited numbers there is an advantage of lower costs.

might be a bit old for softplay. For ds’s 7th birthday we hired a hall at the sports centre and had a bouncy castle and big inflatable slide. There were bats, balls, space hoppers, etc provided by the sports centre and they just all ran about and played with a short break to sing happy birthday and blow out candles on the cake. We weren’t supposed to take food into the hall but we had some sweets, crisps and drinks on offer rather than proper party food.DD had a lazer tag party for her 10th birthday and a bowling party for her 9th birthday. What about taking a couple of friends to the cinema and for food afterwards?

We’ve done all sorts of parties for ds1 . For his latest party, he had a cinema party – party room for food/games before the film, then popcorn and ice cream to take into the film with them. Fifteen children plus two adults were included in the price.Last year he had Laser Quest.The year before he had Mad Science.The year before that we hired a carriage of a steam train and he had a magician entertain the children/adults on the train plus food.Prior to that, he usually had soft play parties .

Telephone GameHave the children sit in a circle for this birthday game. The birthday child goes first and whispers a sentence to the person on their right. That person then whispers what they heard to the next person and so on. When the message has gone around the circle, the person next to the birthday child tells the message out loud.
