Every year Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus and thats why I think theres nothing wrong with celebrating your own birthday too. Remember those wise men who gave gifts to Jesus Christ? Matthew 2:1, 11 what it means is that they were celebrating the birth of a messiah.
Every Christian of sober mind can deduce that there is so single place where the bible states that celebrating your birthday or sending happy birthday wishes is wrong or where it says celebrating it is right. The Bible remained neutral on it and hence people have to think to the best of their knowledge to know whether they should celebrate or not.

Why Dont Jehovahs Witnesses Celebrate Birthdays
Jehovahs Witnesses do not celebrate birthdays because we believe that such celebrations displease God. Although the Bible does not explicitly forbid celebrating birthdays, it does help us to reason on key features of these events and understand Gods view of them. Consider four of these aspects and related Bible principles.
Birthday celebrations have pagan roots. According to Funk & Wagnalls Standard Dictionary of Folklore, Mythology, and Legend, these celebrations originated from the belief that on a persons birthday, evil spirits and influences have the opportunity to attack the celebrants and that the presence of friends and the expression of good wishes help to protect the celebrant. The book The Lore of Birthdays says that in ancient times, birthday records were essential for the casting of a horoscope based on the mystic science of astrology. This book adds that birthday candles, in folk belief, are endowed with special magic for granting wishes.
The Bible, however, condemns the use of magic, divination, spiritism, or anything like this. In fact, one reason why God condemned the ancient city of Babylon was that its inhabitants practiced astrology, which is a form of divination. Jehovahs Witnesses are not preoccupied with the roots of every custom yet when the Scriptures give such pointed indications, we do not ignore them.

As Christians, we want to always hold ourselves to biblical standards rather than cultural standards. For this reason, some have questioned whether or not Christians can celebrate birthdays since it is a cultural practice. I searched the Bible to find the best answer I can to this question.
Should Christians celebrate birthdays? Christians can celebrate birthdays. There is nothing in Scripture that forbids it, nor is there any reason why celebrating birthdays could be considered unwise. Christians should feel free to celebrate their birthday in a God-glorifying way.

Celebrating Birthdays Never Condemned
Nothing in the Bible says that birthdays should not be celebrated.
When we think of birthdays, it usually looks like celebrating your birthday or someone elses by getting together and having fun with the people you love. Some people look to the phrase eat, drink, and be merry when celebrating saying that we should enjoy life and celebrate. However, this phrase is sometimes used out of context in the Bible.
In Ecclesiastes 8, it does say I commend the enjoyment of life because there is nothing better for a person under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad.
What does this mean? Does this mean Solomon who is the author of this portion of scripture, is promoting a lifestyle of not really worrying about anything and living for the moment? No.
Actually, if you look above this verse just a few verses earlier it talks about Solomon promoting righteousness and warning against wickedness. I know that it will go better with those who fear God, who are reverent before him. Yet because the wicked do not fear God, it will not go well with them.
So fearing and being reverent to Him, is more important than pursuing something that could cause sin. Celebrating life and enjoying ourselves, should be done in a God-honoring way. Jesus mentions a few times we are not to be drunk with wine but filled with the Holy Spirit.

Birthdays Are A Cultural Practice
Many cultures do not celebrate birthdays. And thats totally fine.

Even though the actual date is not when most people celebrate on December 25th or January 7th, it is still wonderful to take a day out of every year and celebrate Jesus birthday.
