But do you actually buy your dog two toys, two bags of treats and one chew toy each month?
Lets start by assuming you do. And say you go to Target and decide to buy two Bark toys and two dog treat bags , and a dog chew . If thats you,you will probably spend more than the cost of a subscription.
But Bark toys are more expensive than some of the toys you can find at stores like Petco, Petsmart or Chewy. So it is possible that you could spend less if you decided to pick and choose some toys and treats somewhere else.
But lets go back to our original question: Do you really buy your dog two toys and two bags of treats and a chew every month? You might not .
When I first adopted my dogs, yes. I spent a good amount on these things, but over time, I started just picking up a toy once in a while. And we found that we could live on one bag of treats. So subscribing to BarkBox cost me more. That was even more the case when I had my older senior beagle who simply didnt play as much or have as much of an appetite for treats.
So at the end of the day, BarkBox will only save you money if you have a dog that really loves going through toys and treats. If they dont, then it wont be cost effective. In other words: dont get BarkBox because you think it will save you money get it because its a fun way to spoil your best friend.

Unathorized Barkbox charge on my bank card a day I did not use my card. Got a fraud alert from my bank and I denied the charge. 2 days later I received a box from barkbox. Tried to reach barkbox rep but was frustrated i could not talk to a person by phone to resolve this.
