Grandmas Cake Batter Ice Cream fans rejoice: theres a new cake flavor in town! We know the beloved flavor was dearly missed when it left store shelves in 2015, so we wanted to bring it back with a new Dairy Done Right twist. Hooray!
Similar to a confetti cake, Birthday Cake Ice Cream features cake batter ice cream with yellow cake pieces, and crispy, colorful sprinkles. This new flavor may be reminiscent of our Grandmas Cake Batter Ice Cream, but there are a few significant changes that make it stand by our Dairy Done Right standards. Birthday Cake Ice Cream does not contain high fructose corn syrup or any artificial colors and ingredients. The sweet combination of cake pieces from a family-owned bakery, crispy sprinkles that get their color from plant sources, and a smooth cake batter ice cream base makes this ice cream the perfect treat for kids and adults alike!

Boozy Ice Cream Float Bar
For the adults I also served Boozy Ice Cream Floats. Fudge, caramel and strawberry sauce go down in the bottle of a jar mixed with a splash of cream and a shot of vodka. Top it with two scoops of ice cream and club soda and you have yourself a delicious and boozy cocktail and dessert in one.
Some of the best combinations were strawberry jam with Marionberry Pie ice cream and classic Old Fashioned Vanilla with fudge. Yum! I set the bar with straws, spoons and an ice bucket stocked with vodka and club soda so that guests could build their own float.

Ice Cream Themed Birthday Party
I could have just as easily had a cheese party, but being that its almost summer, an ice cream themed birthday party was perfect! We served classic Tillamook flavors like Oregon Strawberry, Old Fashioned Vanilla, Tillamook Mudslide and their newest flavor Birthday Cake. No need for candles when youre eating your cake on a cone!
I also chose a few other favorites like Marionberry Pie and Caramel Toffee Crunch to serve. To keep the ice cream super cold, I rented an ice cream cart from a local party rental company and I loved the way it added a fun nostalgic feel to the party. The kids loved that they could walk right up and order a scoop in a cup or on a cone.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
No matter the brand, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough has long been an ice cream flavor stalwart and Tillamook gets this flavor right. In addition to its base of cookie dough flavored ice cream , you get little balls of soft, creamy cookie dough and pieces of chocolate mixed throughout.
Good as it is, Tillamook’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream would be even better with more mix-ins. Don’t get us wrong, as cookie dough is one of those mix-ins that can get seriously overdone. This means that it’s a little tricky to find the balance between “not enough” and “too much” when it comes to dressing up ice cream. Still, while we love almost everything else about this flavor, it could use just a few more pieces of cookie dough per scoop to really elevate things.
Oregon Hazelnut And Salted Caramel
Yes, another caramel ice cream from Tillamook but stay with us here. The Oregon Hazelnut & Salted Caramel ice cream is different from the other caramel flavors for a few reasons. First, it starts with a hazelnut ice cream base, which has a rich and subtle flavor that helps offset the sugary sweetness of the caramel. Second, that caramel is salted, which helps tone down the sweetness and adds complexity.

Why I Love Tillamook
But before I share more about my birthday party, let me start by telling you a little story about why I love Tillamook. When I was pregnant with the twins, I went on a food editors retreat to Sonoma, California. It was in the middle of beautiful wine country that I first met Tillamook.
