Note: Our project used watercolour paint, but if your project uses acrylic paint, just substitute the watercolour paint set at each place setting with a small acrylic paint set.
All these supplies can usually be found at a dollar store. But, if youre bot into shopping these days, you can also find most of them online at places like Amazon.
The watercolour paint set later became part of the takeaway from the party. Each guest wrote their names on the bottom of the set with a Sharpie, and we popped them in their takeaway bags when the painting was done.
I also put straws and tape on the table, in case the guests wanted to use a few simple paint techniques I demonstrated, like blowing the paint through the straw and masking their initials/names. But honestly, they didnt need much direction. Everyone had their own ideas about what they wanted to create.

On a budget, youll be tempted to buy the cheapest paint available- but I recommend against it. You want your guests to have fun! Cheap paint is watery, transparent, slow to dry, and hard to work with- thats no fun!
Thankfully, theres a huge variance in the price range for acrylic paint- from entry-level kids paint to expensive heavy-body professional paints. An affordable and perfectly midrange option is Liquitex Basics. Liquitex Basics can be purchased individually by color or in sets. For small parties of 5 or fewer people, a 48 color set of small liquitex basics tubes is a great choice.
How much Paint to Buy for a Paint and Sip Party
The #1 most common question about paint party supplies is how much paint should I buy? While the answer may vary depending on the intricacy of your piece and the size of your canvases, there is a rule of thumb you can follow:
If you are using medium quality paints plan on about 1 oz per person for the most heavily featured colors and .25 oz of each paint color per person for other colors. So purchasing a standard 4 oz tube of Liquitex Basics paint for each color in a projects paint color list should be enough for 4-6 people to complete the painting. For larger groups- like 7-12 people- buy a second tube of any prominently featured colors.
For less than 5 guests, simply purchase a set of small tubes of acrylic paint in many colors. This set will eliminate the need for you to identify which colors you need before shopping. .

Sip And Paint Party Adults
The minimum guest count to book a private party is 6 guests and we can accommodate up to 52 guests.
You select the artwork from our extensive gallery. Bring in any food or beverage you want and Sip and Paint® provides everything else! We have all supplies needed for painting including aprons, paint, pre-sketched canvases, and brushes. We also have white plates, clear plastic cups, white napkins and a limited amount of ice available in the studio for all guests.
An artist will assist your party, making the event simple and fun even for people that have never painted before! Everyone leaves with a piece of art that they have created!
The party will begin promptly at the scheduled time. Please ask guests to come in 15 minutes early to check in and visit. A delay of party time may result in an additional charge of $10 per guest.
A credit card number is required at the time of the reservation. To assure that the credit card is a good number, a single charge may apply toward the booking.
Cancelation, please email 48 hours before the scheduled date. You may call but you still need to email as the official notice. There is a $100.00 non-refundable charge if cancellation occurs within the 48 hours of the party.
