Open seven days a week year-round , the 235-acre Lasdon Park has much to offer. If you have kids in the single-digit age range, the biannual train shows Halloween and Christmastime are simply not to be missed.
During Halloween the main house becomes a haunted one and the set that the trains ride through is ghostly , while the trains during the Holiday on the Hill Train Show cruise through a winter wonderland.
Some permanent features of Lasdon include the Arboretum, which consists of 30 acres of flora and fauna from all over the world, stunning formal gardens, and glass conservatory housing rare plants. A recent addition is the dinosaur trail, which is a charming path in the woods lined with, well, dinosaurs.

Gifts can be sent directly to your home and your kiddo can open them up during a call with their virtual guests!

The 24 Days For Birthday
The 24 Days of birthday was an idea my husband came up with right after we got married. We both have a birthday on the 24th.
Each year we would get one small gift every day from the first to the twenty-fourth of our birthday month celebrating our birthday.
If your childs birthday was on the 13th, you would have the 13 days of birthday.
Each gift was small and inexpensive. With kids, it could be a $5 gift card to McDonalds, a hot wheels car, a favorite treat, something that costs between $2-$5. The idea is to celebrate the birthday kid in a small way every day in the month leading up to the day of their birthday.
The 24 days of birthday has always been one of my favorite ways to celebrate a birthday.

For little children, you can think outside the box & can do away with a regular run of the mill birthday party. You may try making a picnic trip out of a birthday celebration that will be a welcome change for the parents of the other invited kids too and is likely to more fun-filled with interesting & innovative kids birthday party games suited for outdoors. However, if you are not the outdoorsy type, perhaps better to stick to the regular plan.

Maybe its just me, but the pressure of planning and throwing a birthday party is so stressful! I have hosted many birthday parties for my two older sons and the tension, money and time spent was ridiculous!
Now, with the twins, its doubly overwhelming to think about throwing a birthday party. They are turning 6 years old and they go to different schools.
That means that Beckem has 15 kids to invite and Adler has 17 kids to invite just from their classes. Thats not even counting our little friends from church or play dates.
Then, parents will obviously feel obligated to bring a gift for each boy and that just seems like a burden that I dont want to put on others.
And what if Adler has 10 kids show up and Beckem only has 1 friend that comes to the partyor zero! Oh my goodness, the stress!

Purchased by the county in 1938, the 4,315-acre Ward Pound Ridge Reservation is the largest park in Westchester. Hong Ik Martial Arts Bronxville

Make Your Childs Favorite Foods
Let your child choose the menu for the day.
A few days before the actual birthday make a list of everything your child would like to eat during the day. Think of 3 meals, snacks, drinks, and a birthday cake. Do this ahead of time, so that you can stock up on groceries beforehand.
On the birthday morning, you can serve your child with breakfast in bed.
During the day you can cook or bake some of your childs favorite treats together.
Another fun idea would be to display everything you made together on a festive buffet table. You can decorate it with or toppers that go with your themed decorations.
And lets not forget the birthday cake!
This is the highlight of any birthday celebration singing Happy Birthday and cheer as the birthday child makes a wish and blows out the candles.
Set The Party Date And Time
The biggest challenge when it comes to picking a date for your party- is working around the sports and activities that kids enjoy in your town. You obviously don’t want to plan a 2 pm party if most of the kids are at soccer or dance class at that time.
