Highly recommend! I booked Peters singing telegram service for my husbands 61st birthday during lockdown and hadnt quite realized the treat we were in for! But you should verify that the resort will allow him on the property. Not all will.

We hired a Mariachi when we stayed at RIU Riviera Maya Palace. We talked to the person that was in charge of entertainment and we found a few bands. The resort set us up by the beach for a private party.
I don’t know if it is wise to have a band in the room, most rooms are too small.
