Breakfast is one of the best meals of the day and you don’t even need to eat breakfast in the morning to enjoy it! Dennys offers a free Grand Slam on a birthday! Grand Slams definitely come with a lot of food.

With this meal, your child will get two eggs, two pancakes, two sausages, and two slices of bacon. This is going to be a breakfast that is going to fill them up! If you and your little one loves breakfast, then make sure to hit up Dennys on their birthday for a free Grand Slam meal.

How Long Should A Toddler Birthday Party Last

The first thing to do when planning out your party is the schedule.

A toddler birthday party only really needs to last for 2 hours max. Any longer and you will start encroaching on nap-time and end up with some cranky tots!

Two hours gives you plenty of time for games, snacks, cake and presents if you want to open them at the party.

Most parents know that a toddler party isnt really the occasion to arrive fashionably late so you should prepare to start more or less on time.

Heres How To Spend Quality Time With Your Toddler

My youngest child turned two the week of writing this! In celebration of her birthday, and because I really want to make the best of this time, I created this list of fun activities for 1, 2 and 3 year olds. Sometimes you know you want to spend quality time with your toddler, but dont really know how. Well, have no fear!

Birthday Party Activities For 2 Year Olds

Once the big first birthday is over, parties tend to get a bit more complicated to plan. If you are in the midst of planning an event for a 2 or 3 year old, you are likely wondering how to entertain toddlers at a birthday party without any meltdowns!

In fact, there are lots of great birthday party activities for 2 year olds that even children as young as 18 months can enjoy.

Unless you really want to, you dont have to spend a ton of money on a fantastic toddler birthday party.

As you have probably discovered each time your kid prefers the empty box to the $50 toy, children are easily pleased and dont care how much something costs.

Toddler Birthday Party Games

1. Simon Says this classic game never goes out of style and is simple enough for toddlers. The closer to two most of them are the less Simon didnt say you can skip so there arent losers. They will just like doing all the actions together.

2. Pass the Parcel this game is in one of my favorite Peppa Pig episodes. Not common in North America, but it should be!

Prep:

You need one main prize and a bunch of smaller prizes . As well as a variety of wrapping paper.

Wrap the main gift in one color of wrapping paper then add a smaller prize on top and wrap again enclosing the smaller prize in the parcel. Use a different color wrapping paper for each layer. Keep going until you have multiple layers and prizes.

How to play:

Get your toddlers in a circle and play music as they pass the parcel to each other. Whoever is holding the parcel when the music stops gets to unwrap one layer and keep the prize. Keep going until the main prize is won.

Tip: Make sure to stop the music for each child so they each get a prize and you can let the birthday boy or girl win the big prize.

3. Red Light Green Light – this is an old school-yard game, best for 3 year olds and up.

4. Animal Walks A great energy burn.

Great for the backyard or a large room. Similar to follow the leader, one person names an animal and shows all the kids how to walk like that animal.

For example: Walk like a penguin then walk from one end of the room to the other like a penguin .

Diy Party Entertainment With Group Party Games

Sometimes retro parties with good old fashioned party games, jelly and ice-cream are the best.

They can also save you a ton of money that you would otherwise spend on hiring entertainment.

The downside? You have to provide all the entertainment yourself.

But weve made it easy for you by putting together 15 fun and fab party games to keep all your party guests entertained!

When Is The Best Time For A Toddler Birthday Party

I have always found that the best time for toddler parties is the morning.

Everyone is fresh and there is less risk of those dreaded late-afternoon meltdowns. Both my children napped from 1-4pm

Because of our long afternoon naps, the traditional 2-4pm parties never worked for us and any later just gets difficult with early dinners and Bath times.

From polling my mom friends, we have found that a 10am-12pm seems ideal for the 2 and 3 year old age range.

Spa Party: Manicures And Pedicures

Spa parties are so fun for little girls and what better activity than a nail station set up for manicures and pedicures! Let each little girl go home with a nail polish as a coordinating favor!

You can take it one step further and break the guests into small groups and have little spa stations they can rotate like facials, manicures, pedicures, hair, etc.

Indoor Activity #1: The Puzzle Hunt

I WENT FOR BOWLING ON MY BIRTHDAY! | fun birthday activities for kids

Prep time: 0-5 minutes

What youll need:

A Puzzle Hunt is like a treasure hunt except it is indoors, and kids are hunting for pieces of oversized puzzle pieces that have been hidden in a designated room in order to assemble it so they can win a prize. This is an excellent way to segue to cake time because you can make the prize be time for cake. If you have a larger group, you can hide several puzzle sets and assign teams to find the pieces of their assigned puzzle. The first group to assemble their puzzle pieces could be the first group to get cake .

Toddler Birthday Party Ideas

by MomsWhoThink Staff

Let’s Get Ready for Baby!

Toddlers are at a great age to start enjoying birthday parties with little friends. But where do you start? It can be overwhelming trying to get just the right kind of party for your precious child. You dont want it to go unnoticed, but can there be too much? Relax and get ready to enjoy your party with the following tips.

Trying to have the perfect birthday party for your toddler can stress out a parent before it even begins.

Remember that your child will be happy with food, fun things to do, and having you nearby. If you go much beyond that, you may be pushing it too far for yourself or your child. Toddlers arent highly structured creatures, so doing something with a lot of flexibility will be right up their alley.

Little ones are starting to get opinions of their own at this age, involve them in choosing the theme. Whether it be a favorite character or activity, make the party about them.

For young children, too much can be too overwhelming, keep it simple.

For the guest list, invite two or three children to keep the chaos at a minimum. Siblings of close age will usually be involved in the festivities, so count them in your total number. If siblings are much older, they can be a helper instead of one of the kids.

A childrens museum or other indoor play area is also an excellent idea.

Food should be easy and colorful. For a short party at this age, all you need is cupcakes and drinks.

Indoor Activity #: Stomp The Balloons

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Entertainment Time: 10-15 minutes, depending on how many balloons you blow up ahead of time.

What Youll Need:

  • String and scissors.

A great game for exhausting as well as entertaining kids, balloon stomp is a last-person-standing game in which players run around the room with balloons tied to their legs trying to pop everybody elses balloons. The goal is to be the only player with an un-popped balloon still attached by the end of the game, although you can also divide party-goers into multiple teams and pit them against one another. Either way, before the party, blow up a ton of balloons and attach a 12-16-inch string to each. The more you inflate, the more rounds of the game you can play. To start, simply tie one or two balloons to each childs ankle , explain the rules, and yell, Stomp away!

Outdoor Birthday Party Games For Toddlers

  • Ringa ringa roses: This is one of the most popular nursery rhymes. Children hold each others hands, sing this rhyme while moving in a circle, and fall together on the line all fall down.
  • Oranges and lemon: The game begins with two toddlers, one as orange and other as lemon, and everyone else is unaware of who is who. Then, these two hold their hands up making an arch, and one toddler passes through it. This new toddler is asked his/her choice between the orange and lemon and joins their respective group. Then there is a tug of war between the two groups to pull this new toddler on their side, and the group that succeeds has the new child as their strength.
  • Obstacle course: A great way to develop toddlers motor skills while letting them have fun is arranging an obstacle course for them. You can use chairs, tables, and pots to create an obstacle way for children to pass through it. Toddlers should be guided about what exactly needs to be done. An adult can give a demo before the toddlers start the activity.
